Environmental Responsibility
Environmental excellence is a priority at left-click; from the brand of soap our employees use to wash their hands to complete compliance with state and federal laws. We sell environmentally responsible products and services designed for long life-cycles and lack of harmful materials. We operate our locations to conserve resources, minimize harmful impacts on the environment and prevent pollution. We even set those expectations of environmental excellence with our business partners. We communicate our environmental policies and our progress openly with our partners and clients.
While we don’t manufacture technology, but we do monitor the progress and commitments of our suppliers to make sure that they are keeping the best interest of the environment in mind and in play while manufacturing our products.
Paperless, maximize efficiency without paper.
left-click’s goal is to become one of the first completely paperless IT companies by December of this year. We will eliminate paper in our offices and retail stores by using powerful custom-designed software to capture signatures and archive documents. We use about four cases of paper a year (20,000 individual sheets).
left-click’s Responsible Recycling Program
Once a product reaches the end of its useful life, we will help you recycle it responsibly. left-click has instituted a recycling program in the communities in which it operates that has successfully diverted more than 5 tons of equipment from landfills since 2009.
All e-waste collected by left-click is processed in Massachusetts by a company called Metech out of Worcester, MA. Nothing is shipped overseas for recycling or disposal. Metech must comply with all applicable health and safety laws and does not allow the use of prison labor at any stage of the recycling process. Nor do we allow the disposal of hazardous electronic waste in solid-waste landfills or incinerators.
When you recycle with left-click, your used equipment is disassembled, and key components that can be reused are removed. Glass and metal can be reprocessed for use in new products. A majority of the plastics can be pelletized into a raw secondary material.
As of June 2009, left-click sponsors its Responsible Recycling Program by offering the communities in which it operates the ability to recycle products free of charge.
